JUN 3, 2017 The Koreen Perry Band at Rednex

Posted by RednexBar on May - 14 - 2017

Country-pop, folk-pop, and a little bit of classic rock from the 70s and 80s is what you can expect when Koreen Perry and her band hit the stage!

Koreen’s new 5-song original EP album “Evolved” has recently been released to country radio across Canada with great success! The EP is a pop-country cocktail. There’s the LA-style pop song “See Through You,” country-pop songs “You Don’t Know Me” and “Dreams In A Bucket,” along with the organic folk-pop love song “You & Me.” Bonus track of her last pop single “Lucky” is added to the tasty mix.

Starting a new career at the mid-point of life is an adrenaline rush
for singer-songwriter Koreen Perry that’s been a long time coming…

Koreen Perry is enjoying film success with her originals as well as radio exposure. Her songs “Lucky” and “Playing My Emotions” debut on the feature film “Gone By Dawn,” directed by Shaun Donnelly.
Actress and singer, Koreen plays Sheryl Mullens, the principal suppporting role, in a feature film currently in the works called “Breaking Spirits,” again directed by Donnelly. It will feature three more of Perry’s upcoming songs “See Through You,” “You Don’t Know Me,” and “Dreams in a Bucket.”

Her single “Lucky” was in rotation over 34 stations across Canada after it’s successful radio release. The catchy pop song was recorded in LA under the guidance of Blue Pie Records.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Koreen was surrounded by music, theatre, film and performance from an early age. As a growing vocalist, she was part of Edmonton Musical Theatre.

She put her performance skills to use first as a TV reporter and later moved into court reporting. Eager to experience the world, she moved to Calgary for 10 years and spent six months living in Australia working as a live TV captioner – a profession she continues today.

Push the fast forward button and Koreen had returned to Alberta in 2006. After raising her family as a single mom of two boys, and before remarrying in 2014, she decided to start following her dream – that of a contemporary pop-country singer and actress. She trained with Cooper Studios, paid her dues at festivals, clubs and bars and received a grant from RAWLCO Radio to produce her first self-titled CD in 2012.

Her first kick at the can was an easy going classic rock/country-style album of her first originals combined with cover songs from luminaries such as Olivia Newton-John, ABBA, and Fleetwood Mac.

Combining albums and singles, Koreen delivers an eclectic variety from the bubbly “Lucky” and soulful “Face to Face” to the jazzier “Playing My Emotions,” and the edgier “Law of Attraction.”

Several band performances and festival showcases later – including Canadian Music Week and Canadian Country Music Week, Koreen Perry has adopted a more polished Shania-esque presentation in her performances. She frequently performs live acoustic or with her band at private functions, bars and festivals around Alberta. She continues to focus on her singing, song writing and recording.

Curtis Grambo Two time CCMA Male Artist of the Year Nominee Live at Rednex Saturday April 29th!

Grab a ticket quick as sell out expected.

Curtis began his professional career in 1986, touring Western Canada as lead singer for one of Canada’s first hot, young country bands: CC Ryder. In 1989 Curtis began his solo career, and in two short years was signed to a record deal with Sony Records, Nashville.

Curtis took some of the material he worked on in Nashville, and came back to Canada to produce his first album, “Big News Back Home” was released in 1994 and went on to chart many hits. This earned Curtis a CCMA nomination in 1995 for “Male Vocalist of the Year” and numerous CCMA nominations in 1996. The six years from 1994 to 2000 saw Curtis touring Canada and parts of the US supporting his first and second albums, charting many hits, and opening shows for some of country music’s biggest stars.

After fourteen years of continuous touring, Curtis needed a break from the road, to get home to his family and once again focus on his own brand of music. It was time to forget about where country music was headed, and focus on the real Curtis Grambo, and “his style of country music”. The first two albums you will hear much of the influence of “The Legends” Curtis was raised on, and the big name Nashville artists that helped make those records. Curtis displayed much more of his own song writing and truly unique vocal skills in his album, “Just Curtis”.

Curtis also recorded 3 singles with his brother, Marty (The Grambo Brothers) in Las Vegas with Juno Award Winning Producer – Kevin Churko.

Fast forward to the future – Curtis has been keeping busy writing and performing. One of those songs – HURT ALL OVER! Produced by long time friend and band mate (12 years touring together) – Johnny Gasparic. Johnny pulled together Curtis’ dream team for the studio which consists of – Chad Melchert – drums (Gord Bamford); Chris Byrne – bass (Road Hammers); Russell Broom – electric guitar (Jann Arden); Mike Little – B3 hammond (George Canyon); Jeff Bradshaw – pedal steel and Johnny on guitar.

CURTIS GRAMBO is back and sounding better the ever!

BIO – It started with a shuffle beat in a room with two like-minded musicians in the most unusual of locales (Edmonton, Alberta) for a punk rock, country band. The beginnings were humble but the evolution was far from that. Like a beautiful whiskey aging in an oak barrel, or a crisp, golden ale fermenting in a vat, the music evolved into a delectable, cacophony of art and joy. Consistent gigs and a pickup truck full of songs in their repertoire kept this four piece band grooving and growing stronger in the Canadian music scene. Echoing the sentiments of their heroes, their brand of country is fused with attitude and high energy. Band frontman and rhythm guitarist Quinn Clark, or ‘hat with beard’ to his friends, describes the importance of a high energy live show: “It’s something that’s immensely hard and nearly impossible to convey on a record. Although we’ve tried our best to do that. I think that’s what I like most about playing in a band; a collaboration with other players. You become each other’s audience”.
